Aourly sends notifications to keep you informed about important events in your business: payments received, invoices sent, approvals needed, and more. You control which notifications you receive and how they are delivered.

Accessing notification settings

Click on your name or avatar in the top-right corner to open the user menu. Navigate to your notification preferences, which may be found under Profile or a dedicated Notifications section.

Notification types

Aourly groups notifications into categories. You can enable or disable each type independently:
Notification typeWhat triggers it
Invoice sentAn invoice is successfully sent to a client
Payment receivedA client payment is registered for an invoice
Timesheet pendingA timesheet is waiting for your review
Approval requestsAn gig or invoice needs your approval
Overdue remindersAn invoice has passed its due date without payment
System updatesImportant platform updates and maintenance notices

Notification channels

Email notifications

Email notifications are sent to your registered email address. They include a summary of the event and a link to the relevant page in Aourly. Email is the most reliable channel for notifications you cannot afford to miss, since messages persist in your inbox until you read them. To configure email notifications:
  1. Open your notification settings
  2. Find each notification type
  3. Toggle the email option on or off
  4. Save your changes

Push notifications

Push notifications deliver real-time alerts directly to your browser or mobile device. They appear as pop-up alerts even when you are not actively using Aourly. Aourly uses Firebase Cloud Messaging to deliver push notifications. To set them up:
  1. Open your notification settings
  2. Toggle the push notification option on for the desired notification types
  3. When prompted by your browser or device, click Allow to grant notification permissions
  4. Save your changes
You can register multiple devices. Each device that has granted permission will receive push notifications. At minimum, consider keeping these notifications enabled:
  • Payment received — know immediately when a client pays
  • Approval requests — do not keep colleagues or clients waiting
  • Overdue reminders — follow up on late payments promptly
If you are a performer who primarily tracks time, the Timesheet pending notification helps you stay on top of review deadlines.

Troubleshooting push notifications

Browser is not showing notification prompts: Check your browser settings to ensure notifications are not blocked for Aourly’s domain. In most browsers, you can find this under Settings > Privacy > Notifications. Notifications stopped working: Your device registration may have expired. Open your notification settings and re-enable push notifications. Your browser should prompt you again. Do Not Disturb is on: When your device or operating system has Do Not Disturb enabled, push notifications are silenced. They will appear once you disable DND. Using multiple browsers or devices: Each browser and device needs to be registered separately. If you switch to a new device, enable push notifications there as well.
