The dashboard is your home screen in Aourly. It provides a snapshot of your business activity, quick access to common tasks, and highlights items that need your attention. Every time you log in, you land here.

Accessing the Dashboard

The dashboard is always available:
  • After login — It’s the first page you see
  • From the sidebar — Click Dashboard in the navigation
  • Logo click — Click the Aourly logo to return to the dashboard from any page

Quick Actions

The top bar of the dashboard provides quick action buttons that let you perform common tasks without navigating to different sections:
  • Create Client — Open the client creation form directly
  • Create Job — Start a new gig/gig
  • Create Time Entry — Log time quickly
  • Create Expense — Record a business expense
  • Create Invoice — Start a new invoice
These quick actions open modal forms or take you directly to the relevant creation page. They’re designed for speed — when you sit down to start work and want to log yesterday’s time or add a quick expense, the dashboard is the fastest path.

Dashboard Widgets

The dashboard is organized into widgets, each showing a specific aspect of your business. The exact widgets visible depend on your role and how actively you use different features.

Time Tracking Stats

A summary of your time tracking activity, typically showing:
  • Hours logged this week or month
  • Comparison to previous periods
  • Breakdown by gig or client
This gives you a quick sense of how your time is being spent and whether you’re on track with your workload.

Upcoming Todos

A list of tasks and to-dos that need your attention. This could include:
  • Pending time entry approvals
  • Invoices to review
  • Upcoming deadlines for gigs
  • Custom tasks you’ve created
Each todo is clickable, taking you directly to the relevant page to take action.

Recent Activity

A feed of recent events in your company, such as:
  • Time entries logged by team members
  • Expenses submitted for approval
  • Invoices created or sent
  • New clients or gigs added
This helps Owners and Coordinators stay informed about what’s happening across the team without checking each section individually.

Onboarding Progress

If you’re a new user who hasn’t completed the onboarding wizard, a progress widget appears showing which steps you’ve finished and which remain. Each step links to the relevant feature. Once all onboarding steps are complete, this widget disappears from the dashboard. See the Onboarding Guide for a detailed walkthrough of each step.

Promotions and Updates

Occasionally, the dashboard may display information about new Aourly features, tips for getting more out of the platform, or relevant promotions. These are informational and can be dismissed.

Role-Based Dashboard

The dashboard adapts based on your role in the company:

Owner Dashboard

Owners see the full picture:
  • All team members’ time tracking stats
  • Invoice summaries (outstanding, paid, overdue)
  • Financial overview widgets
  • Team activity feed
  • All quick actions available

Coordinator Dashboard

Coordinators see operational data:
  • Time tracking stats for their managed gigs
  • Pending approvals for time entries and expenses
  • Gig progress
  • Quick actions for clients, gigs, time, and expenses

Performer Dashboard

Performers see a focused personal view:
  • Their own time tracking stats
  • Gigs they’re working on
  • Their recent time entries and expenses
  • Quick actions for logging time and expenses

Using the Dashboard Effectively

Start your day here

Make the dashboard your first stop each morning. Check your upcoming todos, review any pending items, and use quick actions to log time for the previous day if you didn’t log it in real time.

Monitor team activity

If you’re an Owner or Coordinator, the activity feed and stats widgets help you stay on top of your team’s work without micromanaging. A quick glance tells you who’s been active, which gigs are getting attention, and if any approvals are waiting.

Act on pending items

The todos widget highlights items that need action. Clearing these regularly keeps your invoicing pipeline flowing and ensures team members aren’t blocked waiting for approvals. Beyond the dashboard, the sidebar provides access to all Aourly sections:
  • Clients — Manage your client database
  • Gigs — Create and track gigs
  • Time Tracking — Log hours and view timesheets
  • Expenses — Track business costs
  • Invoicing — Create and send invoices
  • Banking — Manage bank accounts and transactions
  • Bookkeeping — Accounting and financial records
  • Todos — Task management
  • Settings — Personal and company configuration
The sidebar is always visible, making it easy to navigate between sections. On mobile devices, the sidebar collapses into a hamburger menu.

Dashboard Tips

  • Bookmark the dashboard — If you access Aourly frequently, bookmark it for one-click access
  • Check daily — A daily dashboard check takes only a minute and keeps you informed
  • Use quick actions — They save several clicks compared to navigating through the sidebar
  • Review before invoicing — Before creating invoices, check the dashboard for any unapproved time entries or pending items that should be included
Start each work day on the dashboard to quickly see what needs attention — upcoming todos, pending approvals, and recent activity.
The dashboard content adapts to your role. Owners and Coordinators see management widgets, while Performers see a focused view of their own work.
